We all have questions that we want answered. And honestly, I need some help coming up with more topics to blog about. So, we are going to help each other. Lets have an open discussion (Thanks Katie and Karen), along with questions you may have. This should help our team as a group, and help our coaches figure out what has to be discussed at meetings and on blogs.

OK, 1st question: I would love to know from everyone - What is your favorite part of eating like a Cave-Wo-Man so far?

I have been gluten free for about nine months, and Cave wo-man style has just bump it up a notch. Through doing all of this, I realized that I must have a gluten and grain sensitivity. I notice so many changes to my body, and not even weight loss, I will never go back. Some of these are just little changes such as-- I have less PMS symptoms(my family loves this change), my legs used to swell up all the time, I don't feel bloated at all after eating. These are just a few things that I have noticed for me personally. I do notice that if I do cheat with wheat products, I have such side effects that it is not worth the cheat at all. My advice is to all of you would be to pay attention to subtle changes that your body is making as you are "cleansing" it and you will realize the path you are taking is paramount to your overall health.

Best part about eating this way is that fact that I know longer feel lethargic all day long. I have more energy the last two weeks than I did all last year by watching my calories and what i ate. The thing then was I was still eating preservatives and crap and now eating cleaner (Still not the best) has given me even more energy.

I may not have been writing on the blogs but I check it throughout the day for that "pick me up" from the rest of you. I am facing some challenges of my own & don't want the negativity here. So keep writing all of your successes, I know that is what keeps me going. :)I will not be at tomorrow's meeting because I am working dayshift but looking forward to the blogs being blown up again after the meeting.....lol

I have a question about my sneakers. I've always been a diehard Nike person. The last time I got sneakers I went to Aardvark & got Saucony sneakers. I've been using them since October and haven't had any problems but now that I've been increasing my running, I've been having problems with my back again. I used to do alot more running & never had this problem. I am just wondering if it is my sneakers. And both my Nike & Saucony sneakers are stabilizing sneakers. This is the first time I bought something other than Nike for running. Does anybody know if there is a difference in Nike & Saucony that would be making the difference.

Connie, sneakers are like feet...theyre all different. I love Nike sneakers, but I cant run in them because they cause me to run differently. I stick with adidas and saucony (asics when they make lightweight shoes). You really have to stick with what brand works for you. With your back problem, I really would just guess that your back is not strong enough yet (im guessing lower back?) for the extra miles. You and your body can take care of that. Try doing more superwomans and hyperextensions at the gym to strengthen your lower back.

This mornings meeting is just what I needed to get re-energized! I was starting to feel down because I lost a half a pound (I didn't say only):-)...and really have been eating clean. I am really sore most days and just wonder if the workouts will get easier for me. I like my sweets so I am missing those foods that comfort me when I am stressed. Most days I have "chosen" to stay away from them but it is still hard. On the plus side I do have more energy, I am more positive throughout the day and just walk away from others if they are being negative. I need to journal more and find time. I appreciate everyone's stories and feedback. I sometimes don't know what I should write but like hearing everyone's input. My question to throw out there is if you are eating fruit during the day, how much is enough? I will eat an apple or banana daily, is this ok?

I agree with you Kim this mornings meeting is what I needed I have been focusing on the number to much. I must say I am proud of myself as far as the food part and trying new classes but it was still difficult not to focus on the number.

Allison, I can totally relate to you when you say it is hard not to focus on the number on the scale. I don't know how bad it is for you but at one point, I was pretty much obsessed with the scale. I would weigh myself a couple times throughout the day. The person I was dating at the time had to literally hide the scale on me & I had to ask him permission to weigh myself...lol I know that sounds bad but my scale obsession was making me very moody. Thankfully I am not obsessed with the scale but still weigh myself occasionally. I can tell you from experience that even though the scale hasn't moved in the past year, I did go down a pant size. So stick with it & it will all pay off in the end.

Connie I had to laugh when I read your response it was like i was reading about myself. I called Cody the one day to hide the scale before I got home from work Lol!

Sounds like you are doing great Kim! I came from only a bicycling/spinning background and, when I started cross-training DF style, I was soooo sore for almost a solid month before it started improving. It does get easier :)

Adrianne, you are an inspiration to me. I hope I get to the point of not wanting to go back. I am missing the group time on Saturdays and am feeling blah because of it. Maybe we can schedule a ladies' paleo night. I don't want to exclude the guys, but sometimes it is therapeutic to spend time with the girls. I know Kerri mentioned getting together for dinner sometimes. Let me know when that is happening. I must say, I was very blog resistant when I first started, but now I actually enjoy it!! Thanks for insisting we do this. NO EXCUSES!!!!

I only just started reading the blogs-sorry :( i have had a super tough time with the paleo just because i wasnt ready to give up certain things. After much soul searching in the past 2 wks i am very serious about making positive changes. Tonight was my first night making a totally paleo meal and i bombed :((( i have never been a cooking -type person so taking ingredients and following recipes is pretty foreign to me. I would gladly meet for a paleo night. Maybe i can learn some tricks :)

Kristin I agree that it can be hard to just give up things but keep reading the blogs because there are A LOT of stories about how people feel so much better for their new eating style. Like anything it takes some time to get used to. Be sure to check out the recipe blog for some ideas and the website http://www.paleoplan.com/recipes/ is my best friend!

Kristen, it does seem challenging to come up with food ideas, but think more about eating basic, unadulterated foods. Such as steamed broc. Carrots, etc. Tonight I just made beef roast in crock pot, with baked pears, and broccoli. Just simple foods that you may have made in the past. No need to follow paleo recipes all the time. Once you start, you will realize how exciting it is to try new foods.

Question: What about protein shakes? I would think a no, no. But your thoughts?

I say no no, and unnecessary if eating the right way. There are paleo options. There is a company called Vegasport (vegasport.com) that sells Paleo protein. It is a bit expensive. If you truly feel like you need the extra bit, then go with a natural, organic product. Organic/Natural Whey Protein Isolate would be the way to go. Although, whey means grains, so tread lightly.
