We do not blog as much because we are self sufficient like our Paleo ancestors. LOL
I was wondering what everyone uses for salad dressings. I use infused balsamic vinegars, but sometimes I want a change.

I've gone to Guatemala a few times and all they ever put on salads and fruit is lemon juice and a little salt. i also found a creamy paleo dill dip recipe online made with coconut milk it was really good

I'm still struggling with my wrists i try to modify the exercises the best i can, but they hurt really bad after.I'm always taking motrin for the inflammation and pain( i know thats not good). I'm also starting to run low on dinner ideas as well. Pretty sure i'm starting to sabotage myself also, i want to reward my healthy eating with sugary treats saying"well i have done good all day so a little wont hurt" and i know this is a bad bad thing to do. but hey at least im blogging :)

Shannon, what is wrong with your wrists? If we are in class together (please dear God let my kids get healthy so I can come!), I can show you different ways I place my wrists for certain exercises. I type like 60 pages/day for work plus play the piano & organ, so I am very mindful of not fatiguing my wrists too much.

For pain relief, I use cold first and then heat (one of those reusable packs), arnica homeopathic remedy, Arnica Rub cream, and Epsom salts by the boatload :)

Thanks karen for the info! I have tendonitis in both wrists much worse in my right and i was pretty surprised that even spinning class affected them with holding on the handle bars. I have sprained them a few times in the past and now with no health insurance i pay much more attention not to over do it. motrin 800 has become my best friend but i never heard of arnica cream so im gona check it out. and it seems you are in the same boat i was in a few weeks ago. kids were constantly sick Hope yours get better soon!!

*Ryan and Guys* Sorry if TMI, very very sorry. *Womanly Issues Noted Below*

I am still struggling with "feminine issues" and it is really frustrating me. I was so hopeful that this diet would help in some way with hormonal balance or something, but alas I don't think that is going to happen.

I am 41 and was already tested - not going through menopause. But I get very closely spaced and heavy periods, latest cycle was only 19 days long, and then it lasts a full week. Not much downtime in between, and obviously I deal with the stupid cravings way more frequently then. I credit the diet as being the reason I'm not anemic. Need to find a new doc who is in the St. Luke's Network for insurance reasons, but docs just seem to want to prescribe something to stop the bleeding or lessen it. What I ideally would like is someone who is willing to find out WHY this is happening and tell me how to fix the problem. Anyone love their doc and have one who listens and won't lecture me about my BMI? Will drive for a great doc.

I know once Rocco mentioned acupuncture and having success - any of you ladies try that? In the past, I had taken bioidentical hormones and felt great, but those are too expensive for me now.

And guys you may definitely weigh in, I just didn't want anyone cringing when they read this, because it is my biggest issue as of now. It also seems that I tend to get sick during my cycle when it is really close to the last one.

I think for me it is hard to express myself and take the time to blog but do appreciate the blogs to read. I can say that I have been struggling with keeping track of my foods in a journal and find that I'm getting tired of salads. I have an inactive thyroid just found out in Jan so I don't know yet if the medication dosage is correct but I feel more tired than before. I'm wondering now if I'm eating too little or too much at times since it seems I have plateaued at this point.

The anecdote to salad is a liquid green drink. My husband has a hard time eating veggies or salads, so we came up with a blended drink: start with water or sparkling water in a blender, add any combo of celery, cucumbers, avocado, spinach or kale. Today we added some salsa for added flavor. The avocado gives the drink a nice creamy consistancy.

I am not a computer person first of all. I do not have a phone that I check daily or routinely. I go on the internet when I have a break at lunch, like now. So I am sorry Ryan and Kerri that I am not that helpful. I already know I am not Paleo yet and I do like my breads. But your meetings are helpful and motivating. I am in this for healthy reasons and fun, so I do like to keep it light. I have alot of work to do to be a healthier me but I got this. I had been losing weight steadily for months now but it has stopped and I picked up 2 lbs recently. But keep it positive right??? thanks for your help along the way.

You help when you are able Lisa and I, we...all of us appreciate that very much. You have no worries that you are not "all Paleo". I know I will never be all Paleo, it just does not fit the lifestyle I lead, but I do the best I can when I can, as you are.
2 lbs is nothing in the real scheme of things. How much have you gained beside sthose two pounds. All the knowledge, all the friends, all the healthier habits that will last much longer than those 2 lbs. You keep your mind right and those two lbs will come off and then some.
And yes, without a doubt. Keep positive!

You are so right Lisa, keep it positive. 2 lbs is nothing in the scheme of things just remind yourself how far you've come and where the journey is going to take you. Keep up the great work!!

I think the thing hardest thing for me has been staying postive and motivated everyday. Its almost like the honeymoon period is over and I am starting to come back to earth a a bit.

Dekota, it sounds like you need to go back and do some reflection on how far youve come. Use those strategies you were taught in the beginning, that got you to where you are now. If you are starting to falter, its okay, you cant expect to change lifelong eating habits in a couple of months. In order for your new mindset to become an actual lifetsyle, youve gotta keep on with the strategies that got you this far. Keep up the great work man!

I'm sorry I haven't been blogging! I guess that's where I need help. I did read the blog earlier in the week but I did not comment. I couldn't think of anything to say :( I have been very busy as I'm sure lots of us are. Maybe I need to rearrange my priority chart and make this more of a priority. I do appreciate the blog with everyone's stories-when I have an off day the blog is very inspiring including the delicious food pictures--great dinner ideas!!
I will try my best to not fall off the blog wagon :) thanks for the encouragement to blog back on!!

Allison maybe to help you appreciate how far you have come, maybe writing down the things you have accomplished in this journey will help. It will give you a couple ways of reminding you how far you have come. You will have it in your thoughts as you write it down & it will be on paper so you can reflect back on it (and add to it because it will continue to grow) when you are having trouble appreciating how far you've come. And keep remembering that it is a journey.

I've gained so much (positive) from the DF gang, instructors and members! Still struggling with Paleo, wondering now if it's for me. (no excuses) but...the only support I get is from the gym gang! Yeaaa! My family doesn't want to hear anything about it even though they have weight and health issues. I believe all my challenges are weight related. Mentally & physically! I'm working on this bad negative thinking and It is better. For example, I think I kicked ass on those hills Saturday morning! Lol! Thanks Kerry! And.....finally I can do push ups on that balance( half ) ball thing! Yea Ryan!

This might sound really stupid but here goes I have the most trouble sitting down to eat. just at breakfast and lunch.
Easter was difficult because all I wanted was a stinkin diet coke! Will that craving ever go away? I did not give in to the temptation!

I had to comment on your Diet Coke cravings because I still have them almost all the time too, even over a year after I started eating this way. Every once in awhile I give in too, argh! It is such an Achilles heel for me.

One thing I think I am going to do is try to buy some of the 'natural' sodas sweetened with stevia in case I am too tempted to give in. I'm glad you shared because I thought I was alone with this nasty little craving.

Kim you did kick butt on those hills Sat. morning! You did what Kerri said and you were moving FORWARD and it was for YOU!!!Awesome!
Ann- I have the same problem, I am always eating on the run, eating in my car (who knew you could eat a salad in your car!) I try to sit and eat, but it's hard to sit for twenty minutes and eat. I am always running to the next thing and I hear Kerri's voice in my head saying, "sit, relax". But I struggle.
