How much have you gained?

Of course I am not talking about weight! When people begin journey like the one you are currently on, they usually have one thing in mind...how much can I lose? Well, you need to change that focus to what can I gain! How can you improve your self esteem and confidence, how can you gain self worth. How can you gain more time in the future with your loved ones as a result of a healthy lifestyle? How can you gain more muscle

I have gained so much from this awesome experience and the DF family in general. I gained more strength, which I notice when I do my workouts. I also recover from my work outs so much faster, which also allows me to do more. In the past, I could do cross train on Mondays and still feel it on Thursday. I have gained confidence to challenge myself more during the workouts, and I have set goals for myself to work on during classes. I have gained more energy from my improved lifestyle, and on the days I don't have any energy, I am more in tune with my body and I can try to adjust/change to improve on it. But the best part of all...is that I gained like minded friends to share in this AWESOME journey.!!!

My weeks seem so much more fulfilling! Breaking it down and reflecting on achievement. Though the daily hurdles, obstacles, and life detours are challenging I never seem to give up. Thanks to all of you, my mind continually stays on the positive track. My mind may spin at times, because we are born with emotion! But I keep myself from spinning out of control by constantly using the charts and skills we are working on in this challenge!! If I'm having trouble I assess the situation and find another course if need be!
I've gained more hope and belief in people! I gained more excitement for my future and yours! I realize there is no finish line!!! We really are in control of our bodies, our minds, our actions!

I have gained SO MUCH, starting with all of you wonderful Cavepeople who have become my friends. The "gym family" was so big before but now it is even bigger and happier. It is truly a joy getting to know everyone in new and different ways.

Have been doing all the charts and "homework" right along with everyone. It has helped me truly focus on the non-diet and non-exercise aspects of losing weight and maintaining it, which has kept me on track.

Hearing everyone's stories has inspired me to tackle my life's adversities head-on and with POSITIVITY and courage. An event happened on Monday at the gym that would have had me personally in tears before, because I am very emotional, and not always productively. Instead, I tackle things like that now very calmly and look for solutions versus breaking down and feeling lost. My heartfelt emotions are underneath of course, but instead of getting lost in them, I want to use them to help others and continue to make changes.

One goal just leads to another. I may not be able to meet them tomorrow, next month, or even next year, but I won't stop until I do, and like Kerri says, by then the finish line will have moved and new goals will be in place. I have gained this kind of patience yet persistence through working with all of you :)

Much love to all,
Karen

I may not BLOG like I am supposed to but I sure do like reading everyone elses. I do like how positive all the stories everyone shares are. Going to the crosstraining classes are so much fun and everyone in the classes are helpful and just are good natured. Its hard to be self motivated but going to the classes and getting sweaty is not so bad anymore. So, thanks
