I have heard many people talk about cravings and how it is soooooooooo (yes all the O's are necessary and you now it) hard to turn down the sweets. I have a few solutions for you, if the willpower is just not enough. Of course we want you to try and avoid it all together. Beat those sabotaging thoughts, look at your bracelet, and remind yourself why you are partaking in this life changing process. However, sometimes it is not enough! Here are somethings that I do when it is not enough.
If you can, go to extra fruit first. If that doesn't work, then dark chocolate is not as frowned upon in the paleo diet, so start there. eat the sweets that are "better for you." But try not to eat just the dark chocolate. We all know one piece of chocolate leads to two, then three....its a vicious cycle.
Almond milk is a great alternative to regular milk. And guess what! They make a dark chocolate almond milk! That is my go to when i get the sweet tooth. If that doesn't work, then i go to dark chocolate. But i dont eat it by itself. I put dark chocolate morsels in a trail mix. Mixing the sweet with almonds and dried cherries or cranberries will cause you to fill up faster while eating paleo approved foods, and meet that sweet tooth craving at the same time!
