It takes many things to make a change in ones lifestyle the way you all are doing. It takes support from family members and friends. It takes intrinsic, sometimes extrinsic rewards and strong minded, strong willed individuals.
If you had to pick One and only ONE characteristic or trait about you that has aided you in your lifestyle. Maybe it is a trait that you wish you had, which would help make your journey easier. What is that ONE thing?
You know its going to snow enough that it will be hard to leave the house. You know you will not be able to get out of the house to go to the gym. You know you cant go out for food, and nothing you get delivered in this area fits your new healthy lifestyle. Whats your plan? I know many of you might not have though of this before today.
Here is what I do: Make sure I work out a bit harder, longer the day before/after, and go food shopping the day before the storm to make sure I have healthy foods available when Im in my "lazy, i dont want to do anything mood." Maybe I will do pushups every commercial if I am watching tv. Almost every house has stairs, have you ever used yours to workout? Indoor cardio! Have you thought about it? What is your plan?
One sentence, thats all i ask for. Share it with your dedicated peeps.
Im proud of myself because..... even when I make a mistake, I make up for it with my next decision.
Are you at a point where you dont know where to go from here? You have hit that "brick wall." You have done everything you think you can do to stay on track. Maybe you lost a bit of intrinsic motivation. Ponder this.....
Why did you sign up in the first place?
To be around for your grandkids/children? To be a healthier person? Not happy with appearance? Lacking self confidence? What was your reason for signing up for this major lifestyle overhaul? Are you achieving any of the goals you set at the beginning? Think about how you feel emotionally and physically?
I know we have talked about 80/20 before. It makes the lifestyle easier to obtain. Now, there are differences between eating a healthy 80/20 and overdoing the 80/20. The "over doers" count their normal cheats as part of the 20 (desserts, alcohol, cheese, bread, etc). This is like saying, yes, I am living a healthy lifestyle......almost. The true 80/20 peeps will use their 20 for making healthy, alternative choices to paleo/non paleo things. I use the example of organic canned tomato sauce (healthy, not paleo), ezekiel bread (healthy alternative, not paleo), or eating too much nuts/fruits.
What i am saying is that it is a process. You may start using your 20 for cheats. Then filter in the healthy alternatives for the cheats. Once you have begun to use all of your 20 for healthy alternatives, it will make it that much easier to make smart decisions, turning that 20 into 15, the 15 into 10, and so on. So use your 20, but use it wisely! Keep up the great work and stay on track.

Talk about coming out of your comfort zone. I would like for everyone to try ad open up to one another and let each other know what is holding you back....what is your brick wall? We have all come so far and learned so much from one another. What is that one thing that you still think is holding you back from taking that next giant leap forward? I think sharing this information will not only alleviate some of your own burden, but it will also open up the board to solutions for breaking down your brick wall. We have each other, why not use it right?
My brick wall is eating out. There is always bread, beer, dessert, etc that several people partake. It is hard for me not to "try" something someone else has. Once I've tried it, then i have to talk myself out of not ordering the same for myself. I am successful more often than not, but that still holds me back from achieving my ultimate goals. How can i get past this? How have you gotten past this? Please share what your brick wall is! Lets all help each other!
