Great week 5 meeting!
You have the power to control how you are going to feel at that moment and on...
you control your thoughts and your actions! Will you choose to create what you desire? To believe in yourself? To make change? To smile?
What were you thinking when I was describing our team adventure?!
Accept who you are, who you were born to be... And seize every opportunity you have to become the best version of you!

Lisa Cooper is our captain of Paleo!
Talk about a determined woman! I am pleased to have her as our captain! She has made tremendous progress since joining in January! Lisa and I have both tried, won and lost at the simple solutions methods... However, lasting lifestyle habits are happening for us with Paleo! And I hope for you too!! Food is fun and can be your friend! Enjoy it! There is so much to choose from!! Yum! But remember food is fuel, EAT TO LIVE, NOT LIVE TO EAT!!

If you have a question about Paleo, ask away!!
If you have a request for meal ideas, ask!
If you have a recipe, post it!!

Meeting #4

What did you take away feom the meeting tonight on Developing Self-Discipline???

.. It takes a combination of willpower, the deep seeded fire, that drive, that desire to achieve your "true" goals! Also the hardwork and commitment it takes to make change: following through and being honest with your efforts. And Persistence... Continuing to get back up as you knock yourself down... Responding to the negative echo and fueling the positive voice!
I need you to learn to acknowledge what thinking errors you may be making. Then use your behavior change tools to create new habits. Use your support systems to fill in the charts! Sometimes it's difficult to believe that another way is possible, it is and you can!
What challenge will you be attacking this week. I request that sometime between now and next mon, you do something out of your comfort zone, something out of the ordinary, something you wish to do, don't normally do...take a walk on the canal, get up early to read a book, wear two different shoes ;-) something!!!!
You are doing great, keep going! You will be so much healthier and happier for doing so! Look at all the positive things you have already done for yourself... Continue on!!!!! I am excited for what you can and will accomplish!! Go get em!

Great meeting #3!

Great meeting!! So proud of you all for attending!! Those that couldn't attend due to prior obligation, we understand. If you just skipped... I'm really bummed you missed the meeting, I hear it was a good one ;-)
Topic if tonight, the phrase... "Oh,Well!"
Yes... Change is difficult! Yes, we get discouraged: it's bc creating new improves habits is hard!! So.. Say to yourself, just as you pay your bills, wash the dishes, "take a shower" oh, well! I've got to do this. If I want to achieve my goals, this period of discomfort and discouragement will disappear and my lasting results will feel so much better!
Don't allow yourself to build up your negative bank: and poison your positive... Fill up your positive pot!!! ONE DAY AT A TIME! What have you done TODAY to get you closer to achieving your goals?!
Acknowledge your sabotaging thoughts : write them down and ask what was I just thinking at this moment?
Please let me know your thoughts following the meeting? What did you take away from the meeting tonight? Share!!!
Ps... I came home and Sean had guacamole pico de gallo style, sweet potato chips, shrimp and chicken sausage for us! See... "He isn't Paleo" ;-) but he is certainly making more and more Paleo decisions for himself!

Banana cream pie!

I totally wanted a piece of banana cream pie today! After I enjoyed a caveman breakfast with Sean, the dessert counter was calling me...
But... Thankfully I thought about the consequences of that decision and decided it wasn't something I was willing to do... I asked myself a few questions:
1. Was I really hungry for it? Or was it the thought of something sweet that tempted me? 2. I vocalized my thought with Sean whom I've already asked to help me avoid temptation. 3. I thought about my previous choices and the days ahead: had I cheated recently and would I be tempted in the near future ?
Considering, Thursday is typically "date night" for Sean and I due to randomn work schedules... I chose...
NOT TO HAVE THE PIE! And soon enough my sweet tooth subsided!
How have you avoided non-Paleo foods? Or are you having trouble? Are you using any distraction techniques?

Being Mindful!!!

The weekend is here! Hope you all enjoyed the week! M
After hearing comments from many of you, i am pleased with your efforts!! you have started taking the necessary steps toward change!
first things first... you are becoming MINDFUL!!! you have taken a step back and thought about what areas of your lifestyle can be improved!! Baby steps...
When setting your goals:
take a look at your situation... What are you subjecting yourselves too? Are you setting yourself up to succeed or are you putting temptation in your way? Who are you surrounding yourself with? Surround yourself with the people that lift you up!

It's not about being perfect... It about making better choices, better decisions! Finding the perfect balance for you!

Tonight I will be celebrating Seans birthday! Awkward uncomfortable , anxiety spiking, situation for me: socializing in big groups! Ah! But.. I will get through! I will engage myself in conversation! I will not bite my cheek till there is a whole in my face!!! I've taken a look at the menu so I know what choices I have when arriving! I will make conscious smart decisions! Most importantly: I will take a shower and look like a respectable lady tonight ;-) think Sean will like that?!
Have a great rest of the weekend! Planning is key my friends! What exercise will you be participating in this week? What foods will you fill your home with? How will you prepare for your long days?
Time and effort now: you will reap the rewards!!!
Happy training!
Positive is Powerful!
NO EXCUSES!!

Enjoy the journey!!!

Hi team!
My best advice is to take your time and enjoy the ride! Don't fret and worry...enjoy! See how you can embrace Paleo one meal at a time! Incorporate exercise into your routine slowly! If we make too many drastic changes, it may be overwhelming! So... Have you given yourself credit for what you have done this far?! I like the binder idea ladies! Nice work! Also... Have you set yourself up with constant reminders of what you are setting out to achieve?! Sometimes a picture or positive quote by your nightstand when you wake up in the morning is a great reminder!!!
Last night I had a glass of red wine, the Dedicated Salad from Joey B's and a sweet potato and andouille sausage soup!
NO EXCUSES!!
Today is your day!
positive is powerful!!
Take care
Kerri
